No,no,no, and NO ! Don't try to polish away the coloration of your exhaust. It will come back again and again, the only thing that happens is that you DESTROY the chrome (which is not very high quality) with all the chemicals you pour onto it and all the rubbing. A waste of time and money.
Polished steel will always turn golden at a temperature of 230 deg. Celsius, and it will turn blue at about 240 deg. Nothing can or will ever change that. Note, however, that after 245 deg.the blue colour will vanish and be replaced by a decent greyish "steel-coloured" tone.
It has nothing at all to do with the engine running rich or lean. It has to do with the temperature of the weather and the speed you ride.
